Rajan Balana is an experienced software engineer with over a decade of expertise in mobile ecosystem and backend engineering. He has worked as an engineering manager and as an individual contributor, showcasing his hands-on leadership skills. Currently, Rajan serves as a Technical Lead at JOKR, where he is leading the Conversion team in building one of the most loved quick commerce apps in Latin America. He has expertise in React, React Native, NodeJS, Swift, NextJS, Tailwind CSS, and RemixRun frameworks. Rajan has a strong technical background and is proficient in Go, Javascript, AWS, Microservices, Reactive Programming, Type Dependent Languages, iOS, Swift, Objective-C, FRP, MVVM, Xcode, and Cocoa Touch. He has worked on various projects, including customer feedback, post-order management feature, delivery location and address management feature, and revamping the complete checkout flow in the app. Rajan has also set up a CI/CD pipeline for release management and delivery automation. Before joining JOKR, Rajan worked as an Engineering Manager at Compass, where he led the iOS Performance and Monitoring team and grew the team from 3 to 15 engineers. He was responsible for technical architecture, system design, project management, people management, code reviews, performance management, budgeting, hiring, and delivery. Rajan also worked at OYO as an Engineering Manager, where he worked on building automation pipelines, integrating in-app logging tools, and integrating payment methods. Rajan holds a B.Tech degree in Computer Science from University and completed his Class IX - XII from Guru Harkrishan Public School. He has relevant experience of 10.61 years and possesses a strong skill set, including software engineering, iOS, Javascript, Mobile, Web, AWS, Backend, QA, UI, CI/CD, designer, Swift, Microservices, infra, Android, Objective-c, test, product manager, and Integration.
