Samyukta Ramnath is an Embedded Software Engineer at Axon with a passion for developing innovative solutions to complex problems. She graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a degree in Electrical Engineering in May 2019. Her expertise lies in real-time signal processing and audio source localization on embedded platforms, which she applied to move a Roomba iRobot towards the direction of sound. During the summer of 2018, Samyukta worked with InstaHub to reduce energy consumption in homes and commercial spaces with their snap-on light automation device. She designed a machine-learning algorithm that detects occupancy and keeps the lights on if someone is detected to be in the room. Samyukta also designed a prototype device that uses this algorithm. Samyukta possesses skills in C/C++ programming, Python and bash scripting, model-based verification using UPPAAL, Cadence Virtuoso, and Altium Designer. She is solution-oriented, dedicated, and works well in collaborative environments. As an Embedded Software Engineer at Axon, Samyukta is a member of the Platform team and works on the Fleet range of products. She is responsible for prototyping, feasibility, and evaluation work for the project and uses the results to define parts of the software architecture of the system. Samyukta supports third parties with her experience from prototyping work and is involved in detailed code and design reviews. She also writes production firmware for the product. Samyukta has experience working as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the University of Pennsylvania, where she helped students with designing a device starting from schematic and PCB design, sensor integration, designing and implementing OTAFU and a custom boot-loader, and connecting the devices to each other and to the IBM Cloud. Samyukta's education includes a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania and a Master of Science and a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani. Her tech stack includes software engineering, design, Python, integration, C, Scikit, and machine learning.
