About

Aabhas Senapati is a 16-year-old social entrepreneur from Ahmedabad, India, with a passion for driving positive social impact in his community. He is a student who loves having conversations, exploring a wide range of topics from technology and entrepreneurship to philosophy, education, and ecosystem restoration. Aabhas strives to reform education and change the mindset of people. Aabhas is the founder of ThingFinder, a start-up that provides a tag-device to help Alzheimer patients and the elderly keep track of their day-to-day objects. The start-up is incubated at GUSEC and has raised grants. He has participated in 20+ international hackathons and won 7+ (including 3 MIT-Challenges), expanding his network and furnishing his skills. Through his work in social entrepreneurship and hardware development, Aabhas has devised effective solutions to solve issues related to Alzheimer's, mental health, data-bias in clinical research, emergency safety, accessibility of healthcare and education. He has developed a global perspective and approach by working with people from 20+ countries at personal and professional levels. Aabhas is an advisory board member of UNICEF's Young People's Action Team, where he raises voices of youth in policy advocacy and applies efforts like YoungWarrior Movement at grassroot level. He also blogs with friends, exchanging views on social issues to bring a positive impact. Aabhas believes that creating an impact depends on changing mindsets, best achieved through "true education." He wants to dedicate his life to implementing the change he envisions. He believes that although the world has many intelligent people, it needs wise people most, because attitude and effective implementation matter even more than innovation. Aabhas is a Fall'21 Fellow at Civics Unplugged and has worked with The New York Academy of Sciences as a selected member at Junior Academy and as a speaker at TEDxYouth@JGIS. He has completed his high school education in Mechatronics, Computer Science, and Electronics from Zydus School, and IIT JEE preparation from grade 9 in Physics, Chemistry & Maths from Allen Career Institute. He has also completed the LaunchX Entrepreneurship Program in Entrepreneurship.
