Aakash Deep is a Senior Software Engineer at PayPal with over 9 years of experience in the industry. He has a strong background in full stack development and has worked with a variety of technologies, including Java, JavaScript, React, Spring, Redux, Docker, Kubernetes, Golang, and TypeScript. Before joining PayPal, Aakash worked as a Full Stack Engineer at American Express, where he led a team in migrating case types from a third-party tool to an in-house case management system. He also improved the performance and availability of the case management system and uplifted legacy Relationship Care portals by developing the frontend and backend services on React and Vert.x tech stack. Additionally, he implemented a retry mechanism to ensure card enrollment during system outages. Prior to his time at American Express, Aakash worked as a Developer at SAP, where he started a project to add support for contingent workers/contractors in the SAP SuccessFactors HR system. He implemented the hiring wizard, permissions control, workflows, new data models, and mass data entry mechanism, which helped customers like Microsoft, Nestle, and others come on board the product. He also improved the accessibility of the wizard used to hire new employees as per the ARIA standards and developed Claims History UI with search, refresh, download, and sort functionalities, enabling employees to view the history of their medical, fuel, and other claims. Currently, Aakash is working as a Cloud Platform Engineer at PayPal, where he is implementing the next-generation cloud platform in a hybrid cloud setting to support PayPal business teams to scale their applications that serve millions of customers worldwide and process billions of dollars in payments. Aakash graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Computer Science from Manipal Institute of Technology. He has a diverse skill set, including frontend and backend development, search, and UI development. He is passionate about technology and enjoys working with new technologies and frameworks.
