Aaron Newman is a mission-driven climate tech professional with over five years of experience in engineering and engineering management in the clean energy and carbon removal spaces. Currently working as a Software Engineer at Heirloom, Aaron has also worked at Autogrid and ndustrial.io in the past as a Technical Lead- Predictive Controls and a Software Engineer, respectively. At Autogrid, Aaron guided the overall design and development of the Predictive Controls Platform, a DERMS that optimizes and manages pools of behind-the-meter distributed energy resources. He also led agile-based development cycles, developed the roadmap for the Predictive Controls team, and worked directly with partners and customers during setup, testing, and early operation to explain the core concepts of the product. At ndustrial.io, Aaron built software tools in Python and Java for processing real-time data streams from hundreds of thousands of internet-connected industrial devices. He also developed and integrated a software testing pipeline into the existing automated build workflow using Wercker CI and Docker. Aaron has a Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering and Computer Science from Duke University, where he specialized in Energy Management and Systems Technology/Technician. He also completed his high school education from Enloe High School. With his skills as a Software Engineer, test, Senior Software Engineer, and product manager, Aaron has a strong command over Docker, Python, and Java. His relevant experience of 5.52 years in the industry has made him a professional climate change fighter who aims to make a difference in the world of clean energy and carbon removal.
