Aaryaman Vasishta is a Research and Development Engineer with a focus on computer graphics, particularly in the areas of light transport simulation, physically based rendering, real-time rendering, and ray tracing. He completed his master's degree at the University of Tokyo, where he worked with Prof. Toshiya Hachisuka and Prof. Nobuyuki Umetani as his advisors. Aaryaman is passionate about helping people and motivating others around him, and he loves contributing to open source and writing programs that draw pixels on your screen. Currently, Aaryaman is working as a Mentor for Point Cloud Library (PCL) at Google Summer of Code 2021. He co-mentored a student on a summer-long PCL project to help investigate the usage of AMD GPU's on PCL's unit test CI builds via HIP. Previously, he worked as a Research Engineer at AMD, where he focused on ray tracing and machine learning for computer graphics and also worked on Radeon™ ProRender. Aaryaman has a diverse educational background, having completed his master's degree in Information Science and Technology (Computer Graphics) from the University of Tokyo. He also holds a degree in Computer Engineering from Pune Institute of Computer Technology. He completed his schooling from Delhi Public School and The Bishop's School in Pune. Aaryaman's technical skills include research scientist, machine learning, dotNET, test, computer vision, and neural networks. He has over five years of relevant experience in the field of computer graphics and is always looking to expand his knowledge and skills. When he is not coding, Aaryaman enjoys watching F1 races, playing eSports games, and building computers.
