Abhijeet Patil is a Software Engineer with over 6.5 years of experience in designing, developing, automating, and executing software tests for networking and cloud products. He is currently a Member of Technical Staff 3 at VMware, having previously worked at Cisco as a Software Engineer 1 and 2, and as a Network Automation Engineer. Abhijeet's expertise lies in Python programming, Cisco Nexus 1000 virtual switch, Cisco Catalyst 9800 series virtual wireless controllers, and Cisco Crosswork Network Automation. He also has good knowledge and hands-on experience with switching and wireless features, AWS, VMware tools, Jenkins, Docker, and Kubernetes. He has worked with different networking, virtualization, software development, version control, and automation tools. In his current role at Cisco, Abhijeet is responsible for testbed bring-up with multiple components, analyzing daily regression runs from Jenkins, writing test plans, testing manually and automating the same using PyATS framework, testing RESTconf-Yang manually using Postman, working closely with the development teams to test pods, containers, and debug logs, and testing above mentioned features/components for longevity, scale, stability, upgrade, and negative scenarios. In his past roles at Cisco, Abhijeet performed testing on different controller platforms using APIs, CLI, and GUI, developed comprehensive test plans, tested manually, and automated the same for WLC features, tested RESTconf-Yang manually using Postman and automated the same using Python requests libs, collaborated with regression teams, moved scripts to production within given time frames, built, integrated, and presented Jenkins to automate software development processes for teams, and worked closely with the development teams to test out live core dumps and tracebacks. Abhijeet holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical, Electronics, and Communications Engineering from BLDE University and has completed IES Classroom Coaching from Ace Engineering Academy. He also holds PUC and SSLC degrees from V.B. Darbar PU College and V.B. Darbar High School, respectively.
