Abhimanyu Dhawan is a skilled Software Engineer with over 5 years of relevant experience in the field. Currently working as a Software Engineer (mapping) at Torc Robotics, he is responsible for building and maintaining maps used in truck autonomy software. He keeps track of map changes like constructions, lane-closures, deterioration of road, and updates the maps accordingly. Abhimanyu also reviews software failure logs with other teams to identify and fix probable map-related root causes. He is proficient in Robot Operating System (ROS), C++, Python, Computer Vision, and Qt UI development. In his previous role at Torc Robotics, Abhimanyu worked as an Application Test Engineer. He reviewed disengagements (failures) of autonomy mode in trucks, collected, analyzed, and diagnosed these failures into various root software/hardware components, communicated with multi-disciplinary teams to learn their work and better identify points of failure, and automated repetitive parts of reviews through scripts, tracked and reported critical metrics to management. Abhimanyu is also the Founder/CTO of Indoor Buddy, where he made indoor venues more interactive and accessible by using a next-gen navigation solution. He programmed a robust app for locating items in supermarkets using C# and Unity, built a UI to show food recipes on iPads on shopping carts, and successfully deployed pilots in 3 stores. Abhimanyu holds a Master's degree in Mechatronics, Robotics, and Automation Engineering from New York University and a Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics Engineering from Thapar University. He completed his 10+2 education from Kulachi Hansraj Model School. Abhimanyu's tech stack includes Software Engineer, UI, Computer Vision, Python, SDET, and Test.
