Abhishek Agarwal is a highly skilled and motivated System Software Engineer with a strong background in software development and high-performance computing. He is currently pursuing an MS in Computer Science at the University of Chicago and is actively seeking full-time opportunities. Abhishek has a keen interest in building robust backend systems that can scale well and has a solid technical foundation in languages such as C, C++, Python, GoLang, Haskell, R, SQL, Git, and Matlab. Abhishek has over 2.5 years of experience working in the FinTech and Banking sector, where he specialized in managing credit and fraud risk for non-conventional credit instruments and worked in the Insurance space. He has a particular interest in AI and prior research exposure in this field. Abhishek has a strong track record of success in his roles, having built databases that host historical credit performance and shopping trends, accelerating routine analyses by >90%, and developing scripts to scrape data from the Internet to augment internal databases for enhanced fraud management. Currently, Abhishek is working as a Software Engineer Intern with Qualcomm, where he is working with the Core Platform Kernel team on custom Real Time Operating System. Prior to this, he worked as a Risk Analyst with Flipkart, where he led the development of Credit risk framework (Underwriting and Frauds) for the newly acquired Wholesale business and was responsible for building Fraud Risk management framework for the credit offerings (Buy Now Pay Later and EMIs) of the FinTech division. He also worked as a Business Intelligence Analyst with Axis Bank, where he was responsible for building data-driven strategies for insurance products (includes life and general insurance). Abhishek has a Bachelor of Technology in Chemical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, and is expected to complete his Master of Science in Computer Science from the University of Chicago in December 2022.
