Abhishek Biswas is a social entrepreneur and founder of ClassRoute, India's own social media and community for education in vernacular languages. He is on a mission to solve the problem of inequalities in accessibility to digital education and provides online education for free to students from weaker economic sections. Abhishek left his management consulting job at Kuwait and dropped out of University of Manchester's Full Time MBA program to pursue his dream of changing the Indian social sector. Abhishek has studied Computer Science and Engineering at Jadavpur University, Kolkata, India. He has prior experience in the technology management domain with EY, PwC, IIM Udaipur, and Indian Statistical Institute and applies his expertise to the research and consulting domain. Recently, he has been included in the global working group for the development of the international standard IEEE Recommended Practices for Organizational Governance of Artificial Intelligence. Currently, Abhishek is the co-founder and Strategy and Partnerships Head of Auth'n, building India's first fair price art shop. He is leading the strategies for B2C and B2B markets of Auth'n and securing B2B partnerships with corporates, wedding planners, Durga Puja committees, international markets, and multi-store apparel shops to generate more revenue, most of which would trickle down to the village artist community. Abhishek's past experience includes working as a Senior Consultant - Cybersecurity & Digital Innovations at Protiviti, where he consulted the management for developing sustainable cybersecurity strategies based on ISO, NIST, and leading regulations and state-of-the-art threats. He concentrated mainly on infrastructure, oil and gas, and the financial sector organizations in Kuwait, UAE, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Oman, and Qatar. Additionally, he acted as a technical strategist for emerging technologies like Blockchain, Data Science, and Robotics Process Automation for integrated use in Cybersecurity, Internal Audit, and Compliance. Abhishek holds a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) degree in Computer Science and Engineering from Jadavpur University. He is a research scientist and has expertise in Blockchain, Data Science, and infra. Abhishek has relevant experience of 6.19 years and was an elected member of the executive committee of the Alumni Association of Jadavpur University and NCE Bengal. He is committed to developing the alumni-student connection to the best possible level comparable to the global best institutes.
