Abhishek Chavan is an experienced technology professional with over 14 years of experience in managing and leading teams of more than 70 indirect people in co-located, remote, and multiple countries. He has a proven track record of working in an agile environment and delivering business value to the organization in a timely fashion. Abhishek has extensive experience in creating SAAS solutions using cloud to scale up and scaling startups from seed to series. Abhishek is currently heading the engineering vertical at Bijak, an AgriTech company, and scaling up the business via technology. He has scaled the engineering team to a size of 70 people who are working as developers, QA, design, content, architecture, tech support, and SRE, and managing the whole team remotely. Abhishek has also contributed to scaling the business and GMV of 20% MoM. Prior to Bijak, Abhishek was the Vice President of Technology at Clix Capital (erstwhile GE Capital), where he headed the engineering vertical to create Lending as a Service, which allows businesses to create new lending products and work with partner companies to create digital journeys. He also headed the delivery of SME business in technology for business loan, merchant cash advance of loan sizes from 2 to 50 lakhs using automated decisioning. Abhishek has also worked at Pearson, where he led two teams of developers of a total of 30 developers each in Bangalore and San Francisco towards agile deliverables. He also worked as a solutions architect for new features and capabilities. Abhishek developed a scalable Revel application, which would allow instructors (teachers and professors) to create courses from books that are being taught by instructors in the classroom. The student can purchase an online book, which will allow the student to read online, take quizzes online inside the Revel application, and be graded by the instructor for assignments. Abhishek holds a degree from the Indian Institute of Technology (Banaras Hindu University), Varanasi. He is technically sound with in-depth knowledge of microservices architecture and is still hands-on in coding and architecture on a daily level. Abhishek's tech stack includes senior software engineer, SRE, QA, and microservices.
