Abhishek Dutta is a Senior Security Engineer at Ancestry with over 9 years of relevant experience. He is an AWS Certified Security - Specialty and AWS Certified Solutions Architect- Associate. Abhishek has worked extensively in cloud security and infrastructure engineering. In his current role at Ancestry, Abhishek is responsible for enhancing monitoring and visibility into cloud infrastructure. He has set up better logging infrastructure in PCI environments and onboarded third-party security solutions to strengthen the security posture in the cloud. Abhishek has also collaborated with teams to set up monitoring tools in container security space and automated systems to remediate non-compliant resources in the cloud. He has set up security standards and policies for Jenkins and other AWS services and conducted security reviews and audits for different engineering teams. Abhishek has evaluated third-party vendor products for various security requirements and automated and maintained cloud infrastructure for self-owned stacks using Terraform(IaC). Prior to Ancestry, Abhishek worked as a Graduate Services Assistant at Cysis Lab at ASU. Here, he migrated EC2 instances and configured self-hosted applications such as Taiga and GitLab on top of Nginx and Apache servers. He also set up other AWS resources such as EC2, ESS, EBS, S3, RDS, Cloud Formation templates, and IAM policies as per the requirement. Abhishek developed new IAM resource-based policies for different users for controlling their access to different AWS services. He designed and implemented secure solutions using Route 53 and CloudFront for static web site hosting in S3 bucket. Abhishek also installed and managed AWS and Let’s Encrypt SSL certificates. Abhishek holds a Master’s Degree in Software Engineering from Arizona State University and a Bachelor of Engineering in CSE from Vishveshwaraiah Technological University.
