Abhishek Sharma is a Senior Engineering Manager at Cohesity, with over 13 years of relevant experience in software engineering. He is a hands-on engineering leader who enjoys solving engineering problems and empowering teams to solve problems with as little friction as possible. Abhishek has worked with several large companies, including Dell and Riverbed Technology, where he has led and enabled teams of engineers to develop cloud-based, SaaS offerings and virtualization solutions. At Dell, Abhishek architected, implemented, and delivered one of the first SaaS solutions for DellEMC, and developed a cloud-based, SaaS offering for managing cloud snapshots at scale. He created distributed, resilient, event-driven, RESTful microservices using NodeJS/Express, RAML, RabbitMQ, Redis, and Postgres, which can scale dynamically depending on the load. Abhishek also integrated with Newrelic and Pagerduty for monitoring and alerting on-call engineers. Heavily utilizing and developing familiarity with the AWS ecosystem, Abhishek provided technical leadership and mentorship to engineers across multiple geographies. At Riverbed Technology, Abhishek was a senior member of the team working on virtualization, storage, and networking technologies on the Linux platform mainly using C/C++, Python, and Perl. He designed and implemented the Virtual Services Platform (VSP) solution for Riverbed SteelHead, which enables customers to consolidate their branch services on Riverbed WAN optimization appliance (SteelHead). Abhishek was responsible for designing and implementing the VSP framework using object-oriented concepts, which enabled easy and rapid development of hypervisor management software. Abhishek holds a Master's Degree in Computer Science from Stony Brook University, a Bachelor of Technology in Computer Engineering from Uttarakhand Jobs, and has completed additional coursework at St. Thomas College. His technical skills include AWS, microservices, New Relic, NodeJS, RabbitMQ, Jenkins, Postgres, Azure, Redis, Kubernetes, and Golang.
