Abhishek Shetty is a highly experienced Firmware Engineer with over 12 years of software and firmware development experience. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering and has proven ability in design, development, debugging, and productization of various features of multi-core, multi-threaded storage firmware across architectures and generations. Abhishek has demonstrated knowledge of embedded systems development, RTOS concepts, and hardware/software integration. Abhishek is proficient in C programming with good knowledge of Python, C++, and C#. He has a proven ability in working with cross-functional teams across the globe. Currently, Abhishek works as a Principal Firmware Engineer at Micron Technology, where he continues to hone his skills and expertise. Prior to joining Micron, Abhishek worked as a Principal Firmware Engineer at Western Digital, where he designed, developed, and debugged flash translation modules (FTL) for NVMe SSD, SD, uSD, and USB. He worked on different storage firmware architectures ranging from single-core to multi-core multi-thread firmwares and was responsible for modules such as global address table, relocation, data routing, block management, and re-linking. Abhishek was also responsible for creating a golden software model for pre-silicon verification of a hardware accelerator and worked with ASIC design and verification teams for 100% functional coverage of the hardware IP. Abhishek has experience in debugging memory products using JTAG, flash internals viewer, and logs. He has also written basic Python scripts for unit testing firmware and increased random write performance by implementing a new firmware algorithm for control page writes. Abhishek has a good understanding of NVMe, SATA, and SD protocols and has presented technical papers on increasing random performance and making use of a NAND chip feature by firmware at ISTC 2016 and IDTC 2020, respectively. Abhishek has also worked as a Lead Software Engineer at Samsung, where he developed a Windows forms C# application for running scripts and getting the result back from eMMC device. He verified exception scenarios of SD/uSD device firmware using a software model.
