Achintya Shankhdhar is a Machine Learning Engineer with a strong background in Natural Language Processing and Speech Processing. With over six years of relevant experience, he has a proven track record of solving complex business problems and building scalable ML systems. Currently working as a Data Scientist at Simpplr, Achintya is the 5th hire in the Data Science team and has played a key role in developing the Perception Dashboard, which helps organizations understand the themes employees are talking about and associated sentiment. He has also built infrastructure for dataset management and guidelines for developing AI microservices, designed and developed a system for the generation of questions from long-form documents, and developed ML microservice development guidelines to ensure high code quality, reliability, and reproducibility. Prior to Simpplr, Achintya worked as a Machine Learning Engineer at Skit, where he was responsible for developing user intent recognition and information extraction models for VIVA. He also developed a date-time entity recognition model using duckling in live clients, serving more than 1.5 lakh calls per day, and designed and developed a new intent discovery system from live data to enhance user intent recognition of voice bots by 5.2%. Additionally, he built a Python Package and Microservice for trainable Multimodal Language Identification from audio input which had a precision of 95%. Achintya has also worked as a Machine Learning Intern at Jio AI Center Of Excellence, where he developed modules for calculating Lexicon polarity and sentiment analysis for Indian languages using unsupervised machine learning methods. He also developed a Generalised Model for Aspect Based Sentiment Analysis for news corpus in English and 19 Indian languages using unsupervised machine learning combined with word to word distance.
