Adam Christian is an experienced Engineering Director at Dremio, with a passion for using new technology to solve real-world problems. He has over nine years of relevant experience in software engineering and research science. Adam's interest in software development began in ninth grade when he created his first computer program, a clear knock-off of the iPod Parachute game. Since then, he has honed his skills through research and developing projects, including a data solution for Habitat for Humanity of Greater Charlottesville while studying at the University of Virginia. Adam has spent over seven years working at Tableau Software, where he helped people see and understand their data. He is currently building Arctic at Dremio, a next-generation intelligent metadata store. His current passions include business intelligence, data virtualization, and user experience research and design. Adam's specialties include front-end software development, React, and TypeScript. He has worked on various projects, including Data Governance the Tableau way and building a new team from scratch that delivered data freshness improvements, a data virtualization solution, and a data governance platform for Tableau. Adam holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of Virginia and an Advanced Diploma from Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology. His tech stack includes software engineering, research science, SQL, TypeScript, frontend, and senior software engineering.
