Adam Geringer is a Machine Learning Wizard at Weights and Biases, Inc. He has a strong entrepreneurial spirit that has led him to found RDU Crew, a rowing foundation, at the age of 16. Adam's studies have focused primarily on computational math with a minor in cognitive science. He has completed half of a Masters in Operations Research by the time of his anticipated graduation in May 2019. Currently, Adam is a research intern in a disruptive technologies lab at RTI, a research institute in RTP focused on using science for good. His job roles include building proofs of concepts and demos as well as generally staying up to date on the state of the art artificial intelligence techniques and practices. He is well versed in technical knowledge and has strong communication skills. Adam has worked with internal consulting group identifying applications of Machine Learning and worked closely with Center for Data Science to reformulate problems into solutions. He has also cloned GPT-2 774M language model and reduced the size of the model from 3gb to 12mb with only a 2.7% reduction in accuracy. Additionally, he developed a system to flag calls for human QA and increased from 9% via random sample to flagging 42% of calls. Adam has also worked as a Software Engineering Intern at Railinc Corp. where he worked with QA team to write automated test scripts for track-side anomaly detection systems. He created a tool to migrate 117 test scripts from UFT and translated them to Java Selenium. He modeled the effects of system growth on downstream service calls and storage requirements.
