Adam Inglehart is a Senior Software Engineer at Dave, where he is a member of the Extra Cash squad focused primarily on Dave's Advance product. He has over 7 years of relevant experience in software development, with a deep-rooted hunger for learning and a fascination with building things. Adam is most at home with backend development, but he is comfortable with DevOps basics, and he can find his way around the frontend. Adam is comfortable with a variety of technologies, including Ruby on Rails, Node.js + TypeScript, Java (Spring), AngularJS, jQuery, Coffeescript, SQL (MySQL + Postgres), Redis, DynamoDB, AWS (EC2, RDS, S3, Route53, ELB, SQS, ElastiCache), and Heroku. He has worked with several companies, including ParentSquare and Tongal, where he provided technical leadership and built new processes and features. At ParentSquare, Adam provided technical leadership for the design and implementation of a multi-service Rails application serving over 1 million users. He built a templated notification system and a serverless service to reduce SMS costs, achieving ~3% reduction in text volume. He also refactored the most heavily used mobile API, achieving ~50% reduction in average latency while removing the use of a complex Redis caching system. Adam helped to hire and lead a growing team of junior engineers and contractors, including interviewing, project definition, code reviews, and mentorship for junior engineers. At Tongal, Adam worked with a Java 8/Spring/Hibernate/MySQL backend and an AngularJS/CoffeeScript frontend to implement both internal and community/client-facing functionality. He built a new process for filmmakers to submit various resources for approval by a client and created a “Conversations” page that pulls in activity on all discussions that are significant to the user from throughout the site. Adam holds a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Computer Science from Pepperdine University.
