Adam Stepinski is a highly experienced Director of Engineering at Instawork with over 13 years of experience building and scaling technology platforms at companies ranging from startups to Google. He is responsible for the Americas Engineering hubs spanning Vancouver, San Francisco, and Costa Rica. Adam co-founded the ed-tech company Root-1, which was acquired by Edmodo. At Edmodo, he helped scale the engineering team through the adoption of automated testing and micro-services. He also managed the iOS and Android mobile teams and spearheaded the effort to create "Edmodo for Parents" app, which led to a 1.5x increase in sign-ups and 2x increase in active parents. Adam also managed the Platform team and mentored team members to help them move into tech lead and management roles throughout the engineering organization. He helped develop a recruitment and hiring process that emphasized sourcing diverse candidates and evaluating them based on coding challenges and pair programming. Adam graduated from Rice University with a BS in Computer Science and BA in Mathematics. He possesses a wealth of experience in Senior Software Engineering, testing, microservices, Android, iOS, mobile, and backend development. Instawork is a platform for finding flexible work.
