Adarsh Nagarajan is a Principal Researcher and Group Manager at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) with a focus on Power Systems Design and Planning in Power Systems Engineering Center. He has extensive experience in computer modeling of power systems, grid integration of distributed energy resources (DERs), modeling, control, and monitoring of energy storage systems, and the design, system integration, control and dynamics, protection, and seamless grid integration of low-inertia systems (microgrids). Dr. Nagarajan is a Senior Member of the IEEE and is active in standards creation. He has authored over thirty technical publications and received his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering in 2014 from Arizona State University. Dr. Nagarajan's focus areas include Distribution System Operations & Planning, Power System Analysis, Transients, Control & Stability, and Renewable Energy Systems and Power Electronics. Dr. Nagarajan extensively supports distribution utilities in reaching their goals with adoption to solar (PV), energy storage (ESS), and electric vehicle (EV). He has worked with multiple distribution utilities, including San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E), Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD), Hawaiian Electric Company (HECO), Salt River Project (SRP), Arizona Public Service (APS), and Duke Energy. Dr. Nagarajan's past companies include General Electric, where he worked as a summer intern, and the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, where he served as a Group Manager. He is currently an Adjunct Faculty Member at the Electrical Engineering Department of the Colorado School of Mines.
