Adithya Venkateswaran is a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual with a passion for learning new things. As a Global Research Intern at Mitacs Canada, he is currently working under the guidance of Prof. Jean Pierre David at Polytechnique Montréal on reducing the size and power consumption of binary neural networks while maintaining accuracy. Adithya has a strong background in Electrical, Electronics and Communications Engineering, having completed his Bachelor of Technology degree from the Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology in 2022. He has gained valuable experience in a variety of fields, including Natural Language Processing, Sentiment Analysis, and AI. During his time as a Google Summer of Code Scholar at Libre Space Foundation, Adithya worked on adding support for space weather and orbit data from SWPC and Celestrak. He also developed an InfluxDB-based infrastructure for scalable storage of satellite data and implemented modules for Behavior Extraction to segment time series using deep learning, which helped detect anomalies in telemetry data. Adithya has a strong technical skill set, including experience with PyTorch, BERT, and Neural Networks. He has also created a framework for incrementally building large pruned binary neural networks with comparable accuracy to training and pruning the full neural network. This has provided a memory reduction of 70x and computation reduction of 2-3x, paving the way for future deployment in LUTs of FPGA to accelerate inference times. Overall, Adithya is a talented and driven individual with a wealth of experience in various fields. He is always eager to take on new challenges and is committed to delivering high-quality results.
