Aditya Arora is a highly motivated Computer Engineering student at the University of Waterloo, set to graduate in 2022. With a passion for problem-solving and software development, Aditya is constantly exploring the latest technologies in the field, including blockchain, deep learning, and artificial intelligence. Currently working as a Data Scientist at Wish, Aditya has already gained 1.19 years of relevant experience in the industry. During his time at Wish, he has made significant contributions, including building a 94% accurate model to predict the probability of user refunds within 90 days. Aditya's work has also led to a reduction in refund abuse by developing a single scoring mechanism for each user to accurately reflect abuse by them and their linked accounts against Wish refund policies. He has also improved revenue by using XGBoost to conduct explainable user segmentation to isolate clusters of users that purchase up to 10x more from user-generated content. Prior to his current role, Aditya worked as a Software Engineer - Research Assistant at the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering, University of Waterloo. Under the guidance of Prof. Derek Wright, Aditya contributed to building an internal platform using Postgres, Node, and React for managing the ECE departments' CEAB requirements. Aditya's academic background is equally impressive, with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Computer Engineering with an Option in Artificial Intelligence from the University of Waterloo.
