About
Aditya Joshi, PhD is a data scientist at SEEK, the leading employment marketplace in the ANZ region. With over 6 years of professional experience in natural language processing (NLP) and machine learning (ML), Aditya's research in NLP has been published in several top-tier conferences and has over 1700 citations, with an h-index of 18 and i-10 index of 31 as of February 2022. Aditya holds a PhD jointly awarded by IIT Bombay, India and Monash University, Australia, in 2018, which received the best PhD thesis award. Prior to joining SEEK, Aditya worked as a postdoc at CSIRO Data61, where he worked on social media mining for epidemic intelligence. He has also worked as a software engineer at Sybase (now SAP) and a senior data scientist at Fractal Analytics. Aditya is a pedagogue and has presented tutorials and research talks at various ML/NLP conferences, global industry summits, and a TEDx talk on "detecting sarcasm, combating hate." He is also the lead trainer of a six-month data science program for professional learners in 2021. Aditya has taught coding to school students in India and Australia and has organized events for an LGBTQ support group in IIT Bombay, India. Aditya was granted the Distinguished Talent visa as part of the Global Talent program of the Australian Government in 2020.
