Aditya Pandey is an ambitious Software Engineer with a keen interest in Distributed Systems, Backend Software Engineering, and Big Data Systems. He is currently pursuing his Master of Science in Computer Science at NYU Courant and is actively seeking full-time Software Engineering opportunities for 2023. Aditya has gained valuable experience working as a Software Engineering Intern at LiveRamp, where he worked on building massive distributed data processing systems on Spark with Scala and Java. He has also worked as a Software Engineer in Data at Walmart, where he worked on end-to-end big data services using Python. He is familiar with a variety of technologies like Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, Hadoop, SQL, and has worked on developing APIs. He has also worked with several other programming languages, including JavaScript, Node.JS, C, C++, in addition to clouds like AWS, GCP, and IBM Cloud. Currently, Aditya is working as a Software Engineering Intern at LiveRamp with a focus on Distributed Systems on the Platform Activation team. He is currently working on the Matching sub-team to improve the performance of LiveRamp’s core identity mapping service handling TBs of data. He has improved orchestration of jobs by identifying and classifying workflow errors into transient and non-transient types and implementing an efficient job retry heuristic in the Java-based service. Aditya has also redesigned the output storage layer of the Connector Service to reduce hot-spotting and increase throughput of read & delete GCS operations significantly. This improved load-balancing capabilities and fault tolerance preventing a critical failure during a GCP outage. He has pushed stats to Datadog and created monitors, custom queries, and alerts to track production systems. Aditya has also worked as a Graduate Assistant at New York University, where he handled grading of assignments and tutoring for 80+ students. He has also created and hosted hands-on exercises and provided feedback based on students’ answers. Additionally, he has worked as a Software Engineer II (Data) at Walmart, where he developed and piloted a Spark and Hadoop-based Adjustment Management Tool solution to prevent faulty item stock adjustments. He has also launched a Node.js based orchestration micro-service, ”Mozart” to provide a layer of abstraction for APIs from multiple legacy services. Aditya holds a Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science from PES University and has completed his 12th from Sri Kumarans Children's Home and 10th from PSBB LLA
