Aditya Sarawgi is a versatile professional with a broad range of experience in engineering and product management. He is motivated by purpose rather than credentials and has a passion for shipping great products. Aditya has led the overall strategy of places at Uber, which includes search, detecting current place, destination prediction, personalization, and collecting ground truth data. He employs reason and math to promote the right strategy for approaching a problem, and he fosters high-quality communication within the team. Aditya is also interested in Visual Odometry and SLAM, Control Theory, Energy Grids, Machine Learning for Good, Small satellites, Propulsion systems, and obscure musical instruments like the Sursingar. Currently, Aditya is self-employed and invests in public equity and bond markets. He is also prototyping and brainstorming new products and is an angel investor in Apres and Glyph. In the past, Aditya has worked as a founding engineer at Ampleforth, where he worked on multiple things ranging from design and implementation of the contracting/expanding supply part of the token to leading the infrastructure work for managing their microservices. He also did some work on the dashboard and wrote some nice wrapper classes/libraries for charting (react-vis), cards, and other UI elements. Aditya has also worked as a Senior Product Manager at Uber, where he focused on personalization. He cared about all the small things that made your experience delightful, like trying to guess your destination, making sure that they know where you are despite GPS being flaky, and figuring out the appropriate street location for you to meet their driver partner. Aditya holds a Master of Science (MS) in Computer Science from Stony Brook University and a Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics and Telecommunication from the University of Mumbai. He also completed his Bachelor of Engineering and Bachelors from Bombay Cambridge School. Aditya's tech stack includes product management, ML, Ethereum, Bitcoin, AWS, Search, Kubernetes, Microservices, UI, and Infra.
