Aditya Sohoni is a Software Engineer at Uber, where he has been working for almost a year. He is interested in the fields of Edtech and VR and is always open to chat about these topics. Aditya has experience working with Apache Hive and Apache Hadoop as part of the core data team at Uber. He worked on estimating the time and resource cost of a Hive query prior to execution using the Calcite Cost Based Optimiser. Additionally, he wrote a User Defined Function in Java to surface query costs in the explain plan. Before joining Uber, Aditya worked as a Machine Learning Intern at Phenom. He worked on LTR (Learning to Rank) to rerank jobs in a search result using machine learning. He also worked on ELK and EFK logging setup. Aditya has a Bachelor's degree from the National Public School and is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science and Engineering from the National Institute of Technology Karnataka.
