Aditya Veerubhotla is an accomplished Applied Scientist with a passion for innovation and a deep interest in Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Machine Learning (ML). He is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Intelligent Information Systems at Carnegie Mellon University, where he is gaining expertise in the latest NLP and ML techniques. Aditya has a proven track record of success, having worked as a Software Engineer Intern (Machine Learning) and Software Engineer Intern at Microsoft, where he designed and implemented Deep Learning algorithms for Text Summarization, Co-reference Resolution, and Automatic Question Generation. Aditya's most recent work at Microsoft involved building and shipping a multilingual Question Generation model that generates a question from any text-based input, resulting in a publication at SIGKDD 2021. He also improved upon Relevance Classification and Ranking and increased the NDCG by 2.7 points. Additionally, he distilled multiple Generative and Discriminative models and achieved 6-12x compression with minimal metric loss. Aditya also shipped models for doing multilingual Grammatical Error Detection for text cleaning with an AUC of 0.7. Aditya's education includes a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani, and a Class 12 degree in Science from Narayana Junior College. He also holds a Class 10 degree in 10.0 from Gitanjali Group of Schools. Aditya's technical expertise includes research scientist, NLP, ML, Deep Learning, software engineer, Azure, and web.
