Adnan Shaikh is a seasoned software engineer with over 3 years of experience in the industry. Currently, he is working as a Software Engineer at Amazon Business Payments, where he is responsible for developing and maintaining software solutions. Adnan has a strong background in software engineering, AWS, Frontend, CI/CD, and Java. Adnan has worked with Amazon before, where he served as a Software Engineer Intern. During his tenure, he migrated the frontend of an existing tightly coupled monolithic service written with SpringMVC and moved it to AWS using S3, Amplify, and CloudFront. This decoupled frontend allowed his team to launch their product more effectively in multiple marketplaces. He also set up a continuous integration/deployment solution on AWS using CDK, CodeCommit, CodeBuild, CodePipeline, and Lambda along with metrics to track API usage and alarm on-calls in case of excessive errors. Before joining Amazon, Adnan worked as a Software Engineer at Persistent Systems, where he ported an agent-less client from Java to C++ as a Win32 service to improve runtime performance and reduce its memory footprint for low-spec ATMs. He also implemented a separate updater service to handle seamless background updates of the main application. Adnan solved major critical crashes and refactored significant portions of the codebase to increase the reliability of the system. He created Windows Installer (MSI) merge modules and installers using InstallShield along with build automation scripts. Adnan holds a Master of Science in Computer Science from the University of Texas and a Bachelor of Technology in Computer Engineering from Vishwakarma Institute of Technology.
