Adona Iosif is a highly skilled Software Engineer with a passion for social impact technology work. With over 5 years of relevant experience, Adona has developed a diverse range of skills and expertise in the field of software development. Currently working as a Software Contractor, Adona has prototyped an end-user programming language for architects, which includes implementing a floor plan sketching tool, a language for expressing relationships between floor plan elements, and a multimodal interface for adding and editing relationships. Adona's past experiences include working as an independent data analyst and visualization expert, where she developed a collection of data stories about poverty in America. She explored how common poverty experiences such as housing insecurity are reflected in US Census Data and built interactive visualizations that support meaningful engagement with poverty data. Adona has also worked as a Program Coordinator for the Science & Engineering Ambassadors Program at the National Academy of Sciences, where she developed workshops on energy and climate for audiences in government, nonprofit, industry, and business sectors. She also coached energy experts 1-to-1 in communication content, visual design, and delivery, and assisted the City of Pittsburgh in developing the City's Climate Action Plan. Adona holds a Ph.D. in Machine Learning from Carnegie Mellon University, where she was a student from 2011 to 2017. She has a strong technical background and is proficient in various software engineering technologies.
