Afaque Ahmad Siddiqui is a Lead SRE at Chegg Inc. with over 10 years of relevant experience in building scalable enterprise systems for various industries. He is a highly skilled professional with expertise in high performance computing and highly-available distributed cloud native systems. Afaque is passionate about learning new technologies and skillsets to keep pace with the rapidly changing world of technology. Currently, Afaque is working at Chegg Inc. where he is building a great product. Prior to this, he worked at Fujitsu as a System Design Expert and at NEC Technologies India as a Senior Member of Technical Staff. At NEC, he worked as a DevOps Engineer and gained experience in AWS cloud automation, systems architecture, server automation, orchestration, and application deployment. He also has experience in building end-to-end cloud platforms in AWS for various servers, including Apache, Tomcat, MySQL, MariaDB, and Nginx. He has completed CI/CD deployments using Jenkins and has experience in infrastructure monitoring using Zabbix. Afaque is proficient in C and scripting languages like bash and Python. He also has hands-on experience in machine learning algorithm generalized linear model using rtool. He has extensively researched and implemented cloud deployment using OpenStack and has a good understanding of Linux systems and internals. Afaque has also designed highly scalable and resource optimistic solutions using open source systems. He developed a profiler for Linux based on SystemtTap tool and has a good understanding of SDN. He has hands-on experience in building Cross Compiler Environment, BSP (Board Support Package), Linux Networking Stack, network subsystems-netfilter, iptables, Package Manager – GNU tools like GDB, GCC, and Make. Afaque holds a B.Tech degree in ECE from MIT Meerut. His tech stack includes SRE, AWS, Python, Terraform, DevOps, product manager, Docker, Software Engineer, CI/CD, ML, Research Scientist, MySQL, Jenkins, Integration, and infra.
