Ahielan Ravichandran is an experienced software engineer with a strong background in building web applications, shared UI components, design systems, and model libraries. With a career spanning over 5 years, he has worked with top companies like Zoho and Facilio, and is currently a founding team member and software engineer at Chronicle. Ahielan's expertise lies in writing test cases, mentoring, and automating the build process. He firmly believes in moving at a sustainable pace and fixing what’s broken using actionable steps and metrics. He is a quick learner and has experience in various technologies such as Javascript, UI, Web, CI/CD, NodeJS, and ReactJS. At Facilio, Ahielan built a form component that handled CRUD operations of modules, designed a builder library using Sortable.js to implement builder components for forms and Q&A (survey), and built and maintained basic functionalities of an excel sheet using open source libraries to help map sensor data points to assets. He also mentored interns and junior engineers to help them understand and be productive within the codebase. During his tenure at Zoho, Ahielan revamped Zoho Subscriptions hosted pages written in JSP to React.js and implemented lazy loading, asset fingerprinting, code splitting, and caching using webpack to improve load times and bundle size. He also worked on payment gateway integrations including Square and Razorpay, and on internal integrations like Zoho CRM. He developed internal build tools, set up CI/CD pipelines in GitLab repositories using Node.js, and authored many shared UI components that are used across the Zoho Finance Suite. Ahielan holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Computer Science from Sri Krishna College of Technology and has also studied at Amrita University.
