He is currently the Director of Engineering at EMPG | Bayut & dubizzle, where he is responsible for building and leading high-performance engineering teams to scale the company. Ahmad is passionate about solving problems and has co-founded and run a startup in the past. Ahmad's core strength lies in engineering, and he believes that smart engineers give businesses a competitive edge in the modern world. He has extensive experience in technologies new and old and knows the essentials of shipping great products at speed and scale. He has seen and solved enough challenges and knows most tradeoffs of modern engineering. At EMPG, Ahmad is focused on shipping great products at speed. He has worked across or interacted with almost all engineering teams in EMPG and most stakeholders. He has set the right values for the engineering team and hired the talent that fits those values and is technically proficient. Ahmad has empowered engineers and cut out fat processes impeding their productivity, resulting in higher job satisfaction amongst the engineers. He has restructured the team into lean, product-focused squads and pushed the culture towards adopting DevOps and true CI/CD. Ahmad has worked with several companies in the past, including tintash, where he honed his frontend, backend, and infrastructure skills. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from the National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences.
