Ahmed Hashem is a DEI certified talent acquisition professional with over 16 years of experience in developing and executing recruiting plans within both agency and in-house settings. He is a firm believer in the power of a collective culture that encourages diversity and inclusion. Ahmed excels in managing all phases of full-cycle recruiting, from initial sourcing and screening through offer negotiations, placement, and on-boarding. He is currently working as the Talent Acquisition Leader for Inclusive & Equitable Hiring at Roblox. Ahmed has an impressive track record of building DEI-centered recruiting tools and infrastructure. He was a founding member of the recruiting team at Lumanu, where he negotiated service contracts with LinkedIn to increase sourcing capabilities, job postings, and employer brand tools. He also trained all Lumanu hiring managers on sourcing and building custom searches using LinkedIn. Ahmed integrated and customized Greenhouse as the ATS to improve the candidates' and interviewers' experience. He successfully hired candidates for various roles, including design leadership, full-stack engineers, product managers, and product design, achieving a 100% offer acceptance rate. Ahmed has also worked as the Lead Technical Recruiter at the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative, where he aimed to build diverse teams that include people from different backgrounds and experiences. He looked for a diverse pool of applicants, including those from historically marginalized groups. Ahmed believes in staying close to the real problems and engaging directly in the communities they serve. Ahmed's education history includes a degree in Diversity and Inclusion and Project Management from Cornell University. He also has relevant experience in product design, senior software engineering, and infra.
