Ahmed Meeran is a Design Engineering professional with a passion for creating engineering systems that can change the world. With a strong background in Architecture, Ahmed possesses a diverse skill set that enables him to contribute to many industries. He is an interdisciplinary expert with a deep understanding of economics, statistics, policy, and entrepreneurship. Currently working as a Graduate Researcher at the Singapore University of Technology and Design, Ahmed is focused on developing advanced workflows in Geospatial Databases and Management. He is also involved in streamlining intelligent decision-making using Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning to drive informed design choices applicable to Architects, Designers, Engineers, Planners, and Policymakers. Prior to his current role, Ahmed founded the Bio-Design Lab, a multidisciplinary studio that focused on targeted and narrowed design solutions for clients involving Engineering, Architecture, Fabrication, Education & Research. He also worked as an Architectural Coordinator at FHD Group, where he was part of the winning team for the "Building for a Billion" rural poor housing competition conducted by L&T & Government of India, PMAY scheme. Ahmed holds a Master of Science degree in Economics and a Bachelor's degree in Architecture from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur. He also has a High School degree in Biology, General Science, and Mathematics from Asan Memorial Senior Secondary School. Ahmed is a Research Scientist with expertise in Computer Vision, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Neural Networks, and Infra. He has relevant experience of 4.19 years and is constantly pushing himself to understand the world around us and find problems that are waiting to be solved. He believes that technology and informatics are vital tools that contribute significantly to the process of solving real-world problems.
