Ajay B. is a seasoned leader with over 21 years of experience in building and managing high-performing global engineering teams. He has worked with some of the best talent in the industry and has been associated with well-known brands in Silicon Valley. Currently, he is the VP of Data Engineering at Mural, where he manages the engineering team building the next-generation Aggregation Systems as a SaaS platform that drives most of Intuit's product portfolio. Ajay has a diverse background in different domains, including Digital Printing (MIS), Security, and Finance. Although his primary background has been on Microsoft technologies, he has diversified over the last few years to lead teams on Java, Apple, and Adobe technology tech stacks. Currently, his set of services relies on the Java tech stack with big data technologies such as Cassandra and Hadoop being employed for business analytics use cases. Ajay is a technologist on the forefront and thrives in situations that throw new complex challenges at him. He is meticulous in his way of doing things and agile in his way of thinking. He works well with cross-functional and global teams (India, Australia, US, UK, Japan) and has a proven track record of delivering high-quality products. In his previous roles, Ajay was the Director of Engineering, Data Infrastructure, at Slack, where he led the Data Infrastructure sub-pillar of Data Engineering. He managed ~80PB of dw storage, thousands of nodes of data infra processing trillions of records of data in the dw. He was also a Senior Engineering Manager at Slack, where he managed all things Data Warehouse, Ingestion, Lineage, Datamart, AB Testing/ Experimentations Framework, and the Analytics portal. Ajay has a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering from Goa College of Engineering and a Diploma in Computer Engineering from Fr. Agnel Polytechnic. He also attended Dhempe College of Arts and Science. His tech stack includes Data Engineering, Senior Software Engineer, Infra, Java, Big Data, Cassandra, Hadoop, Apache Airflow, Kafka, Data Warehouse, and Test.
