Ajay Balakrishnan is an experienced Software Development Engineer with over 13 years of experience in the industry. Currently working as an SDE-III at Tesco Bengaluru, Ajay has a proven track record of delivering high availability solutions that manage cash devices at Tesco tills. He has worked closely with other business analysts, development teams, and infrastructure specialists to ensure the successful delivery of projects. Prior to his current role, Ajay worked as a Senior Software Developer at Expedia and as a Software Engineer Grade 3 at Cisco. At Cisco, he was part of the team that worked on the Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE), a network administration product that enables the creation and enforcement of security and access policies for endpoint devices connected to the company’s routers and switches. Ajay played a crucial role in the RBAC (Role-Based Access Control) and Licensing modules within the product, designing and rewiring the entire module from the ground-up to improve performance and scalability. He also implemented a new style of UI for the module using Backbone js and BootStrap css, making flows around the module more simplified and easier to use. Ajay holds a Bachelor of Technology degree in Computer Science from the National Institute of Technology Surat. He has a strong technical background and is proficient in various technologies, including Selenium, SDET, UI, Web, Python, and Java. He has also worked extensively in the areas of software engineering, infrastructure, and testing.
