Ajay Bharadwaj is a skilled Research Bioinformatician with a Master's degree in Bioinformatics from Georgia Institute of Technology. He has a strong background in population genomics and software development, with proficiency in writing pipelines to analyze next-generation sequencing data, machine learning, web development, and data analysis. He has experience working with huge databases, genomics and expression-related datasets, and network-based biological data. Ajay has 2.43 years of relevant experience working in the field of computational biology, with his most recent role being a Research Bioinformatician I at the Van Eyk Lab at Cedars Sinai Medical Center. He has also worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at Lachance Lab at Georgia Tech for 18 months, where he worked on projects related to the effects of natural selection on prostate cancer risk through time using ancient DNA and polygenic risk scores. He built the ancient DNA database and developed a pipeline to generate polygenic risk scores for the 1000 genomes project. Ajay has also worked as a Computational Toxicology Intern at Vertex Pharmaceuticals for 3 months, where he built a toxicogenomic map using the concept of WGCNA (Weighted Gene Co-expression Network Analysis).
