Ajay Gupta is an AVP of Data Engineering at Jio, with over 15 years of experience in end-to-end software development. He leads a team of approximately 50 full-stack and Big Data engineers to drive the development of the Automation/Analytics Hadoop-based platform for Pan India 4G/5G Telecom Network of Jio. The platform ingests data daily in hundreds of terabytes range from Network elements/probes, and hundreds of data processing pipelines further process data in the range of hundreds of terabytes daily. Ajay has a solid programming background in C, C++, and Java, along with expertise in contemporary architectural design patterns such as Event-Driven Architecture, Service Oriented Architecture, and Micro-Services Architecture. He has considerable knowledge and experience in Systems Programming, Operating Systems, Networking, Multi-threading, and Distributed systems. With 7+ years of experience in architecting batch and real-time data processing solutions based on Hadoop/Bigdata-based technologies, Ajay has exclusive experience and proficiency in leading the architecture and development of optimized and efficient Spark Jobs. He has 15+ years of work experience in architecting, developing, and launching software solutions conforming to desirable performance, scalability, and reliability standards. Ajay has driven the development of patented and award-winning big data software solutions to improve upon the mobile Internet experience of millions of people across India. Ajay has authored a book on Partitioning Aspects in Spark, "Guide to Spark Partitioning," and numerous articles in leading magazines on WiFi technology insights. He shares Spark insights with the wider community of Spark developers via a dedicated Medium blog on Spark aspects. Ajay has initiated and written 20+ patents, with 15+ patents granted in multiple countries. He conducts regular training and workshops for the team on big data technologies. Currently, Ajay is leading a team of approximately 50 engineers (with expertise in full-stack and Big Data development) to drive the development of the data-driven Automation/Analytics platform for the Pan India 4G/5G Telecom Network of Jio. The platform, ‘Jio cognitive platform,’ has both Web/App-based interface and is being used as a one-stop-shop across Jio for all network engineers, support team, and management to know about various aspects of Jio Mobile Network performance and Jio mobile customer experience via comprehensive reporting, visualization, and dashboards. Ajay has a Bachelor of Technology in Electrical Engineering from Harcourt Butler Technical University, a
