Ajay Krishnan is a highly accomplished Product Manager with over 7 years of experience in the tech industry. He is currently working at Microsoft as a Product Manager 2, responsible for creating and maintaining the vision, roadmap, and implementing key features for Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery (BCDR) product area for Azure Synapse Analytics – a cloud big data platform, which has 10k+ enterprise customers. Ajay has conceptualized availability zone, clone, and undo drop feature for Synapse Dedicated SQL pools – interviewed multiple customers to analyze their needs for a BCDR solution for their big data workloads, collaborated with various stakeholders to finalize on the technical solution. He has also done comprehensive competitor analysis to identify gaps and possible solutions in the BCDR space – played the role of a thought leader internally to provide information and socialize the importance of BCDR and how competitors were aggressively tackling them. In his previous role at IBM, Ajay was responsible for conceptualizing key product features, building and delivering on the product roadmap for Core Platform, Channel Partner Platform, Analytics, and Security modules of IBM MaaS360 product, which has 17k+ enterprise customers and ~8 million active users. Some of the key highlights include designing, leading implementation, and launching User-Based Risk Management for MaaS360, a security feature that allows administrators to identify users who are a risk to the organization. The feature currently has adoption of ~10% of our customer base and is being integrated with other security products in IBM. Ajay holds a PGDM degree in Business Administration and Management from the Indian Institute of Management, Indore, and a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) degree in Information Technology from Pune Institute of Computer Technology. He has a strong tech stack, including product management, Azure, SQL, Big Data, Search, Web, Mobile, Recommendation system, and Software Engineering.
