Ajay Rajamani is a highly skilled Fullstack Web Developer with expertise in Javascript, React, Redux, MongoDB, Express.js, Node.js, HTML, CSS, PostgresSQL, Ruby, and Rails. He is also familiar with both the Google maps and Mapbox API's, as well as basic GIS and Python. With almost five years of relevant experience, Ajay has a passion for building applications and creating helpful tools for people. He believes that coding appeals to the inner child in us who loves playing with legos and wanted to construct the biggest, most complicated marble machine of all time. Before his career in software engineering, Ajay served as a wildland firefighter in the US Forest Service. He served one season as a member of a Type 3 Engine crew and two seasons on a Type 1 Interagency Hotshot crew, an elite team of 20 firefighters tasked with the hardest assignments on the fireline. He was responsible for responding to rapidly evolving situations by communicating effectively with crew members and supervisors in order to maintain control of hazardous situations, such as uncontrolled wildfires and medevac efforts. As a crew, he successfully evacuated over 500 civilians from I-5 as it was being burned over by the 2018 Delta fire before re-engaging the fire and saving a threatened neighborhood. Currently, Ajay is a Software Engineer at Ladder Insurance. He has also worked as a Forestry Technician - Wildland Firefighter at the US Forest Service. He holds a Full Stack Software Engineering degree from App Academy and a Bachelor's degree in Ecology from the University of California, Davis. Ajay's tech stack includes Software Engineer, Javascript, Web, Ruby, MongoDB, Redux, NodeJS, and Python.
