Ajay Shelar is an experienced software engineer with a demonstrated history of working in early-stage startups from the fintech, agritech, and HR tech industries. With a relevant experience of 5.20 years, he has built and designed APIs and apps from scratch as the first engineer in startups. Ajay is someone who loves to own end-to-end responsibility and has a tech stack that includes Frontend: HTML/CSS/JS, Angular, Hybrid Web APP, Ionic, Cordova, Backend: Python, NodeJS, MySQL, DynamoDb, PostgreSQL, DevOps: AWS, GCLOUD, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform. Currently working as a Tech Lead at Apollo, Ajay has built a team of 6 engineers from the ground up by participating in sourcing and interviewing candidates. He has also researched new technologies and adapted them to requirements, optimized performance of applications for full-scale production deployments, and mentored junior developers on following best practices around coding, design, quality, and performance. Ajay has maintained and advocated for these standards through code review and led-out daily stand-ups, architecture, and design discussions. In the past, Ajay has worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Apna, where he built the backend solely as the first backend engineer from scratch and released the first build in just 15 days. He has also designed and defined the database schema in PostgreSQL using Django ORM, built RESTful APIs for complex job feed and social network feed using DjangoRest, and deployed Django + PostgreSQL web application on Google cloud VM instances. Ajay has also worked as a Software Engineer at BharatAgri, where he developed a hybrid android app for a better user experience, developed an Internal Customer Relationship Management tool, and collaborated with the engineering team and agronomy team to design and launch new features. Ajay has a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) degree in Computer Science from Atharva College of Engineering and a Higher Secondary School Certificate in Science, Technology, and Society from Z. B. Patil College. He has also completed his Secondary School Certificate Exam in High School/Secondary Certificate Programs from Raje Sambhaji Military School Morane, Dhule.
