Akanksha Devkar is a passionate Machine Learning Engineer with over 10 years of relevant experience in the field of Robotics, Artificial Intelligence, and Deep Learning. She is currently working as a Machine Learning Engineer at Alectio, where she is creating sustainable machine learning solutions using Active Learning. Akanksha's interest in science and technology, especially astronomy, began at a young age, and during her undergraduate years, she got hooked on Robotics and Artificial Intelligence after witnessing the thrilling contest of robots, 'ABU Robocon' in 2008. She then worked as a Jr.Embedded Engineer at Aeron Systems Pvt Ltd, Pune, where she developed software for inertial navigation sensors. After gaining industry experience and honing her programming skills, Akanksha pursued a Master's degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute. During her studies, she learned how deeply Deep Learning has impacted today's world and decided to pursue a career in this stream. She also studied the mathematics behind neural networks and how each aspect of the network affects performance. After graduating from WPI, Akanksha worked as a Machine Learning Engineer at Magic Studio Inc., where she focused on building deep neural networks to analyze image frames in a video captured on a mobile device, detect different objects in the frame, track them, and tag them using machine/deep learning techniques. Akanksha's TechStack includes ML, Deep Learning, Neural Networks, Mobile, CNN, Image Processing, Object detection, Image Segmentation, NLP, and Spring. She is also a member of Team Aeron for Mahindra's Driverless Car Challenge, where she is working on the image processing node of the team, applying Deep Learning techniques for intelligent road perception by the car. Apart from her professional work, Akanksha was a Core Member of the Illuminati Technical Club at MKSSS's Cummins College of Engineering for Women, where she motivated students to learn technical concepts and arranged weekly meet-up sessions for technical knowledge exchange. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, and Communications Engineering from Cummins College of Engineering. She also completed a Nanodegree in Self-Driving Car from Udacity and a Master's degree from MIT School, Pune. Akanksha is a driven and motivated individual who is always looking to learn and grow in her field. She welcomes connections and is open to discussing technical concepts and exchanging knowledge.
