Akar Gupta is a highly motivated and results-driven Data Scientist with over 5 years of relevant experience in the industry. He is currently working as a Data Science Intern at Ford Australia, where he is working on the company's proprietary data set. Akar has used his expertise in Data Aggregation concepts and Feature Engineering to analyze the data and create insightful visualizations, which he reports to domain experts. He has also created a Regression-based Feature Selection model and used Numerical Prediction with Regression Models in Python Sklearn like Linear Regression, Ridge Regression, Lasso Regression, random Forest, etc. Akar has utilized Cross-Validation Techniques like Grid Search CV, Randomized Search CV for Hyper Parameter Tuning, and used Visual Studio Code and Git to manage code. He collected data for the project from various data sources, prepared and explored the data in R Studio, analyzed and created visualization in Tableau, and created a report consisting of the analysis and visualizations. Akar has also worked as an IEE Engineer/Analyst at Itron, Inc., where he worked closely with customers in resolving their technical issues. He pre-processed customers' utility data and analyzed it by creating visualizations in Python (Matplotlib, Plotly, Seaborn, etc.), automated manual reporting tasks using Python Scripts, contributed to technical specification documents, coded and debugged Oracle Stored Procedures, and wrote Powershell and Batch Scripts as per Requirements. Akar holds a Master of Science (MS) degree in Data Science from RMIT University, which he is expected to complete in December 2021. He also holds a Bachelor of Technology (BTech) degree in Chemical Engineering from MNNIT, which he completed in 2016.
