Akash Chugh is a highly analytical individual with a passion for solving tech problems, particularly in the financial services and gold space. With over 7 years of relevant experience, he has gained exposure across functions and has developed a deep understanding of the industry. He is a graduate of IIT-Roorkee and is currently leading the Gold business at PhonePe as a Category Manager. In his current role, Akash is responsible for growing the digital gold business and ensuring a high-quality and seamless customer experience. Under his leadership, the business has achieved 6X growth in just 12 months and has captured 35% market share in the digital gold space. He has also introduced innovative strategies such as reminders, milestone, and UI changes to improve repeat rates by 13% points. Additionally, he has ideated and executed marketing and promotional campaigns, including bringing in Mr. Amir Khan to promote the category. Prior to joining PhonePe, Akash worked as an independent consultant at ABM India, where he enabled clients with campaign strategies to achieve their goals and delivered real-time intelligence by implementing campaign events. He also worked as a Business Development Manager at TBS Planet Comics, where he developed augmented reality zones to increase offline presence and executed a pan-India SIS campaign to connect 200 cafes across 20 different cities. Akash's education history includes a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) in Engineering from IIT-Roorkee and secondary school education from St. Aloysius' High School. His tech stack includes UI, and he is an explorer, inquisitive individual who is always seeking to learn and grow.
