Akash Dhasade is a highly motivated Doctoral Student at EPFL with a passion for algorithms and data structures, deep learning, and distributed systems. With a relevant experience of 3.68 years, Akash has worked on various projects that have honed his skills and expertise in the field of computer science. During his time at EPFL, Akash worked as a Summer Research Intern and optimized cluster-merge, a scalable and precise clustering algorithm to recover significantly similar pairs among a set of elements. His contributions to the project include reducing network bandwidth usage of request/response in distributed execution, implementing Join-Idle-Queue work style to reduce straggling, and dynamic sizing of distributed work requests to improve load balancing. His work on the project has been highly appreciated by his colleagues and mentors. Prior to his time at EPFL, Akash worked as an Associate Software Engineer at iManage, where he gained valuable experience in software engineering. He has a Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science from the Indian Institute of Technology, Tirupati, and completed his 12th from Pace Junior Science College and 10th from St. Joseph's High School, New Panvel. Akash's tech stack includes Deep Learning, Software Engineering, and Research Science. He is a quick learner and is always eager to expand his knowledge and skills. He has a keen interest in algorithms and data structures and has won the Shaastra Maze Rover Competition 2017 with his team, where they devised an algorithm for traversing mazes.
