Akash Kumar is a highly motivated and curious Data Scientist, currently working with the data science team at HDFC Life. Akash has a Bachelor of Technology degree in Civil Engineering from the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, and an Intermediate degree in Science from Delhi Public School, Dhanbad. He is proficient in various technologies such as Data Scientist, Research Scientist, Javascript, Random Forest, NodeJS, and MongoDB. Before joining HDFC Life, Akash worked with Epifi, a Neo-Banking Startup by Google Pay Founders, where he was responsible for developing predictive models to change the banking experience in India. He also worked with Neogrowth Credit, where he developed a propensity model to help sales agents in improving the loan renewal rates. He examined the impact of different factors to assist the business in maximizing the likelihood of renewals and designed Random forest and Extreme Gradient Boost models for propensity score using R. Akash is always looking for new and challenging projects that would provide him with opportunities for professional growth.
