Akash Nagaraj is a Research Scholar at Brown University with a strong programming background and expertise in the fields of Machine Learning, Statistics, and Data Science. He is proficient in Python, C, R, and Java and is comfortable working with a wide range of ML frameworks. His interests lie in the fields of Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Cloud Computing, and Big Data. Currently, Akash is working on understanding the computational principles underlying visual perception in humans and is applying his expertise with neural networks to develop task-optimized computational models of the early visual cortex to solve specific Computer Vision Problems. Prior to his work at Brown University, Akash worked as a Senior Analyst - Securities Engineering at Goldman Sachs, where he was responsible for building a new trading platform for the Global Equities Trading Desk. He also worked as an Analyst - Securities Engineering at the same company. During his time at Goldman Sachs, Akash gained knowledge of Front-desk Systems and the Financial World. Akash has a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science from PES and completed his 12th Grade from National Public School, Bangalore, and his 10th Grade from Clarence High School, Bangalore. With over 3.35 years of relevant experience, Akash is a Research Scientist, ML expert, Computer Vision specialist, Neural Networks enthusiast, Big Data professional, Data Scientist, and Software Engineer.
