Akash Pandey is a Ph.D. student at Northwestern University with a keen interest in material failure analysis using computational methods. He has a Master's degree in Solid Mechanics from IIT Madras, where he worked on characterizing the fatigue property of Macro-fiber composite using experimental and computational methods. Akash has over 5 years of relevant experience, having worked as an Engineering Lead at Infosys and an Advanced Rotatives Engineer at Rolls Royce. During his tenure, he worked on stress analysis, fatigue life assessment, and fracture mechanics assessment of discs in Rolls Royce engines. He also developed algorithms to continuously track the life consumption of discs while in service. As a Ph.D. student, Akash plans to work on mathematical and computational modeling of composite materials. He aims to contribute to the development of new materials that can withstand extreme conditions and have a longer lifespan. Akash's technical skills include research, solid mechanics, and material failure analysis. He is a Research Scientist with a strong background in stress analysis, low cycle fatigue life estimation, and fracture mechanics assessment.
