Akash Shaw is a software engineer with 5.19 years of relevant experience. Currently, he works as a Software Development Engineer - 3 at Acko, where he is responsible for working on a major tech revamp project for the car insurance platform to help with increasing scale. He has also led the engineering efforts to develop and launch the new car insurance purchase journey and worked on the AckoDrive Inventory deals platform. He has developed a Django library to interact with any database table using Excel sheets, which helped the catalog and business team to do data modifications/transformations with minimal involvement of the developers. Additionally, he revamped the logging and alerting infrastructure of AckoDrive and Acko Car insurance platform, helping in correlating the distributed logs, getting proactive alerts, and visualizing the various application metrics. He also led the engineering efforts to build a comprehensive membership platform in collaboration with Pitstop to offer various car services. Akash holds a Bachelor of Technology degree in Computer Science from Heritage Institute of Technology, where he studied from 2014 to 2018. He also completed his ISC Examination in Science with Computer Applications from Hirendra Leela Patranavis School in 2014 and his ICSE Examination in Science from the same school in 2011. Akash believes that learning and leadership are indispensable to each other. He is constantly working on himself to think of solutions, be it a normal application or a high data-driven application. He aspires to be a Technical Architect someday and is always striving to learn and lead things to completion. He believes that everything comes down to keeping learning and training until we do it right.
