Akash Singh is a System Developer at Scania Group with a background in Electrical Engineering, majoring in Robotics & Controls Systems, and a passion for sustainability. He is highly interested in working with electric and autonomous vehicles and renewable power generation industries. Akash specializes in modeling, simulation, and controller design, but he finds projects involving mixed roles with hardware and software most interesting. During his time at a start-up, Akash wore many hats, from product architect, development engineer, systems integrator to team-leader, mentor, and vendor management. However, his graduation studies made him realize how much more there is to learn and grow, and this passion for learning has stayed with him. The idea of personal growth is central to him, and one of the most important aspects he seeks at his workplace too. Akash has worked as a Research Engineer at Robotics and Perception Lab RPL KTH, where he added autonomous capabilities to the Research Vehicle at Integrated Transport Research Lab (ITRL) and was responsible for re-designing the software stack as a platform to be easily used by other research groups. He has also worked as a Summer Intern at Scania Group, where he developed tools to maintain the fidelity of the Software-In-Loop (SIL) environment and communication over CAN buses. Akash developed a regression tool, written in Python and using unsupervised Machine learning and statistical analysis, to compare the quality of the generated output of the simulations between different runs. This tool is used by the teams to verify and seamlessly integrate new version releases of simulation blocks. He also developed a “CAN repeater” to connect the clients using the SIL services with the server. Akash has a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from Technische Universiteit Delft, a Master of Science in Systems, Controls, and Robotics from KTH Royal Institute of Technology, and a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from IIT Roorkee. He also completed his High School education at DAV Public School, Faridabad. Akash's tech stack includes Research Scientist, Senior Software Engineer, Python, and ML.
